Theology of the Body Introductory Talk (4 Mar 16)

the-last-supper-window-kristine-mcnamara

What is the Theology of the Body? Why is this considered one of the most important legacies that Pope St John Paul II has given us? Why did he call it the basis of the most appropriate method for mankind’s “self education” and that it “concerns the whole bible, the whole Gospel. … the whole teaching, even more the whole mission of Christ”

In No 44 of the Final Report to the Pope of the Synod of Bishops on the Family, : The Theology of the Body “has given the Church a wealth of reflections on the nuptial meaning of the human body and God’s plan for marriage and the family from the beginning of creation. In particular, by treating conjugal love, he described how spouses, in their mutual love, receive the gift of the Spirit of Christ and live their call to holiness”

header-adoration-rocksVenue: St Joseph’s Church, Victoria Street. Conference Room

Date / Time: 19 February 2016, Friday / 7.45p pm to 9.30 pm

How do you know that the Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus?

The Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. and is the single pearl of great price and he who discovers it, goes and sells all he has and buys it. (Matt 13:46).

The doctrine of the Real Presence is a milestone personal conversion story that leads me back to the Catholic Church after 18 years as a Baptist.
Come and journey with me as we explore the Scriptures to ascertain when Jesus says “Eat my flesh & drink my blood” does he means it literally or figuratively?
Discover also the understanding of the early Church Fathers in dealing with this important issue. There are so many Eucharistic miracles throughout the history of the Catholic Church. Why is this so? What is the significance for their happenings?
