Theology of the Body Course, 3, 10, 17, 24 June 2016

Venue: St Joseph’s Church Victoria Street, Conference Room

Considered as one of the greatest legacies of St John Paul II, this catechesis is the source from which much of Pope Francis Apostolic Exhorttion (The Joy of Love) is based on. Understanding sexuaity, love and the meaning of life is critical not only to marriage and sexual morality, but concerns the entire Gospel, the Bible and in fact the whole Mission of Christ. A must for all in family and youth ministry and catechesis.

The course is over 4 Fridays evenings on 3, 10, 17 and 24 June from 7.00 pm till 9.30 pm. (Total 10 hours)

Trainer: Andrew Kong, International TOB Presenter

Andrew has been giving presentations on St John Paul II’s Theology of the Body (TOB) in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau and Shanghai for the past several years.

A magna cum laude graduate of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome with a Licentiate in Canon Law, he also holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science degree. Andrew also has also a certificate in the Practice & Principles in Counseling.

He is also a certification student of the Theology of the Body Institute (USA), and is a qualified facilitator of the A New Language program (on the Theology of the Body), and a fellow of the Roman Theological Forum and a member of the Centre for Theological Studies on Faith and Culture.

He was appointed to be The Defender of the Bond for the Archdiocesan Ecclesiastical Tribunal by the Archbishop of Singapore in 2014.

Currently he works as a consultant and trainer. Prior to this he worked at the Family Life Society as a presenter cum trainer in the Society’s education & training programs on sexuality and pro-life issues.

On the Mystery, Miracles and Marvels of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 13 May 2016

Mary is Our Queen and Mother of the Church, the New Eve and also the Mediatrix of All Graces. Come and learn about her Role in our Salvation History, and how God has a Unique and Special place for her in his plan for all eternity. Come and hear why the mother of Jesus is so highly exalted and venerated by Catholics. Learn of her famous apparitions, her messages, her devotions (Rosary, novenas, scapulars, medals, shrines, etc) and miracles because of her maternal intercession. Why do all the Saints and Popes throughout history exhorts us to turn to Mary to intercede for us.

Building a Culture of Life … 6 May 2016

Today, more than ever, the battle of the Culture of Life vs the Culture is Death is ongoing and intensifying. Marriage and the Family are threatened by emerging new trends such as same sex marriages, commercial trade of donor eggs and sperm, surrogate motherhood, etc and from traditional challenges such as contraception, abortion, premarital sex, pornography just to name a few. Ignorance is not bliss in these situations and so what is the Catholic Church’s response? Come join us for an interactive evening of discussion to understand the roots of the Culture of Death and how we can begin to build a Culture of Life.

Speaker: Andy Wee is the Administrator of the Prolife Singapore group and has a keen interest in Prolife topics where he seeks to understand the Church’s response and to share them with other. He is an instructor with Natural
Family Planning and helps couples to overcome subfertility issues with the use of the Creighton Model and NaproTechnology.
